RELIGION AND VALUES

Dear Parents/Guardians,

All Sirius College Campuses, including Shepparton Campus, celebrated R & V Fun Week from 24/07/2017 to 28/07/2017. Different activities were organised for the students e.g. competitions for Quran, Nasheed, R & V Trivia, Asmaul Husna, and the building Kaaba & Adhan. Students enjoyed participating in these activities and had a lot of fun.

On 26th July, 2017 as a part of R & V Fun Week, Grade 6 students participated in an intercampus reading competition. Three students from Grade 6 (Ayat, Mariam and Fareba) were selected. In the beginning of the competition, they read a poem about Prophet Muhammed S.A.W. They competed well against other SIRIUS College Campuses but could not win any position. It was a good learning experience for them. The R & V Competition provided a great platform to display the knowledge and skills students have amassed from reading the book named Prophet Muhammad S.A.W; The Beloved Messenger of Allah. It proved to be a great source of self-evaluation for participating students and offered a chance to meet new people and make friends from other campuses.

During the week, students also participated in classroom activities about basic Islamic religious practices e.g. belief, worship, fasting, alms giving and pilgrimage. They learnt how Islam guided Muslims in their daily life and their worship of God. Through these activities students explored and understood the basic beliefs and the five pillars of Islam.
